Zagros Mountains
The Zagros Mountains are a series of parallel ridges into which lead to to the plains. Many of the peaks exceed 3000 meters above sea level. In the south central region some of the peaks even exceed 4000 meters! Yet as the Zagros continue they soon only reach 1500 meters. This mountain chain is only one of the many mountain chains in Iran.
Persepolis: need physical feature
Persepolis is the remains of a ancient city found in Iran. It is located in the remote, mountainous, southwestern region of Iran. Within the city's vast walls were royal palaces and audience halls. The Apadana was the largest building in the city. Receptions and Persian ceremonies such as the Persian New Year were celebrated there.
Iranian Monument:
The Iranian Monument or the Azadi monument is a monument of freedom for the people of Iran. It is located in Shah Iran within Azadi square and is also a symbol of Iranian modernness. It has been the sight of many political rallies in Iran. In the year of 1971 the monument was completed by Hossein Amanat. It is composed of 8 thousand white marble blocks. The arch rises as high as the Elburz mountain range just north of the city. This Arch is a great Iranian monument!
